Mind You: Rise of the Punk

Since the beginnings of Punk it seems like Punk got a little bit less rebellious as each representative of the local Punk culture was spearheaded into the commercial front. From Sid Vicious, Ramones, Green Day, to Blink 182 punk has seemed to have gotten punked by the insurgence of Emo-rock. Kids seem to have gotten too in touch with their itty bitty feewings to rebel against any establishment, institution or conformity.

But breaking through the Miami Punk scene comes MIND YOU - a band comprised of Jay Yassel Orriols on lead guitars and vocals, Gabe Esquijarosa on guitars, AD Batistas on bass and Victor Garibaldi on drums. These punks bring the original essence of classic punk back, but with slight New Age rock melodies.

Since their 2003 debut EP What it feels like, produced with the help of Jeremy Dubois at Dungeon Studios, MIND YOU has been slamming the mosh ridden scene of Miami in notable establishments such as Churchills Pub, Tobacco Road, Hard Rock Cafe, and even most recently Auteur Explosion @ Cinema Paradiso which produced a short clip you can catch on MIND YOU's MySpace.

Following a 2007self titled EP recorded at Ocean VU Studios with Karl Heilbron, MIND YOU has now returned with a new album Holiday for the Spirit Whether Live or Wax, this band offers high energy beats and guitars with rebellious lyrics which melodically streams from Jay's vocal chords.

We highly suggest to you lovers of real PUNK to crawl, walk, run your fingers to your keyboard and purchase their tracks from their myspace page or on iTunes.
